BioMARK-II-B2 is a Class II Type B2 Biohazard Safety Cabinet or Total Exhaust Cabinet. These cabinets provide personnel, product and environment protection. Type B1 cabinets have 0% re-circulation arrangement and 100% exhaust through HEPA filter. Vertical downward airflow to the work zone creates parallel streams of ultra-clean air that carries with it all the contaminants leaving the work area at a high degree of cleanliness of the order of Class 100.

Standard Features :

The filtration arrangement for this Type B1 cabinet is designed as per NSF Standard 49. All contaminated plenums are surrounded by negative pressure, virtually eliminating leakage from the cabinet. Provides maximum protection.

Blowers are fully balanced and are made for continuous operation. Motor capacity is optimized to deliver the required air with low noise. The cabinet work zone has minimum welded joints to avoid collection of contaminants or rusting Cabinet work area is made of fully SS304 construction with minimum joints.
Maximum front sash opening is 8" which can be increased for introducing larger instruments or samples and for cleaning. An alarm is provided to prevent opening of front door beyond 8" UV germicidal lamp (15W or 30W) is provided for preliminary sterilization.

Built-in white, electronically ballasted, fluorescent lighting provides excellent illumination in the work zone and reduces operator fatigue. Powder coated GI construction in 2 colour combination provides a pleasing look and enhances the aesthetic appeal of the equipment, Fully SS304 construction is also available.

Exhaust Module with HEPA filter (has to be located near the Cabinet above the false ceiling or outdoors on sunshade etc. with access, for service.)
Every Cabinet is tested in the factory for HEPA filter integrity, Cleanliness and Air flow. Additionally these are repeated at the Site again as per requirement.

All Test instruments are Calibrated with traceability to NABL or International Standards.

The cabinets is warranted for 12months excluding consumable parts and accessories.

Additional IQ/OQ documentation is available upon request.

Optional Items: Virus Burnout Unit or Second stage of Exhaust HEPA filter

Note 1: When air is exhaust from the Biosafety Cabinet, not only pathogens but air conditioned air is also thrown out. To compensate for the air lost, air has to be introduced into the room using Positive Pressure / Fresh Air Modules, to avoid leakage into the room through door opeingins / gaps. If fresh air is not fed from an air conditioned room, the lab is heated up to cool this additional Air conditioners have to be installed. As a thumb rule for every 200cfm of fresh air added one ton of AC should be added. For eg. for a 3' Type B2 cabinet, minimum of 2TR AC should be added.

Note 2: For a 3ft Biosafety Cabinet the exhaust air quantity is 450cfm, to heat this air even to to 80degC, 15kW of heater is required, which is too high considering power situation in India. To avoid this we have developed an alternative system that is being used in USA and Europe, which is an additional stage of HEPA filtration in exhaust. An additional HEPA filter Module with a blower and HEPA filter will be connected to the exhaust system. It may be noted that all the HEPA filters in the Biosafety cabinet have to be tested for Integrity using Aerosol Photometer after Installation at Site to ensure safety of the environment.
